The ABC Mediterranean Landraces Activity, submitted by the On-farm Conservation and the Documentation & Information Working Groups for funding under the Second Call of the Phase XI ECPGR Activity Grant Scheme, was selected by the Executive Committee and approved in March 2025.

Implementation

ABC Mediterranean Landraces partners, covering Albania, Greece, Italy, Portugal and the UK, have started collecting on-farm landrace data. Lists of landrace names will be developed per country and eventually uploaded to a dedicated section of EURISCO. In parallel, a task force is developing a proposed minimum set of passport and characterization descriptors to be included in future national landrace inventories.
