April 2019
The meeting of the EUGrainLeg (Lathyrus diversity) Activity took place 10-11 April 2019 at the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Bucharest, Romania.

The first day was dedicated to presentations, including some on international projects involving Grain Legumes (BRESOV, ECOBREED) and on the status of national Lathyrus collections represented at the meeting (Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia). Opportunities for cooperation and possibilities to link EUGrainLeg to other major activities and to add value to the results were discussed.
After the sessions, the group visited the Research Center for the study of quality food products “HORTINVEST” and the research green house complex, located at the University of Agricultural Science and Veterinary Medicine.
On the second day the details of EUGrainLeg were discussed, i.e. establishment of working collections, planning of morphological evaluations in the experimental fields of all project members’ countries. The methodology for morphological evaluations and the reference genotypes were agreed upon. A plan for future activities dealing with research topics of interest to the Grain Legumes WG was developed.
