Proposals from the Berries, Wheat, and Barley Working Groups were accepted

The Third Call of the ECPGR Activity Grant Scheme was launched on 6 October 2025, with a deadline of 6 February 2026.

Out of the four submitted proposals, the Executive Committee selected for funding the one submitted by the Barley and Wheat Working Groups on multi-environment validation, mapping, and marker development for resistance to fungal diseases in barley and wheat (ValoResWB) and the proposal submitted by the Berries Working Group on a collaborative action for developing trait descriptors for berry genetic resources (BerryTraits).

The Executive Committee asked for a number of clarifications before accepting a third proposal from the Allium Working Group on the ‘Conservation and eco-geographical mapping of Ramsons (Allium ursinum L.) genetic resources in Europe’ (Euro-Ursi).

The Activity Grant Scheme is the primary mechanism through which ECPGR funds are allocated to Working Groups. Proposals are submitted in response to periodic calls and must meet specific criteria, aligning with both the ECPGR Objectives and the Plant Genetic Resources Strategy for Europe.
